Pratham Modi · New York City
I work on broken systems across technology, biology, and healthcare.
Currently working in Ops & Growth at The Sentience Company in New York City. Previously conducted immunology research, worked in biotech R&D, and built tools addressing medication affordability.
I'm an Indian American builder and researcher from Orlando, Florida, now based in New York City.
My work has moved between cancer biology, biotech R&D, healthcare affordability, AI products, compliance, growth, and software. Usually I find a problem I can't stop thinking about and end up building something for it.
The Sentience Company
Ops & Growth · New York City
I work across operations and growth at Sentience, a New York startup building personal AI models that remember, reason, and act on behalf of their owners.
I do whatever needs doing across product, engineering, compliance, recruiting, onboarding, and growth. I have shipped production code across React, TypeScript, Python, and infrastructure, helped lead SOC 2 readiness, managed vendor and cloud relationships, built growth systems, and onboarded users directly.
Education and highlights
- Graduated from the University of Central Florida in Spring 2026 with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology.
- Graduated one year early with a 4.0 GPA, Summa Cum Laude, as a Burnett Honors Scholar and UCF Top Honor Graduate.
- Joined UCF's Ethics Bowl team two days before regionals, won the Southeast Regional competition, and later competed nationally.
- Previously served as a physiology teaching assistant supporting roughly 200 students and as a medical scribe in family medicine.
Patient Assistance Lookup Chat
An AI-powered medication assistance navigator, originally called Copay Navigator. It helps patients find manufacturer copay cards, patient assistance programs, discount options, and lower-cost pharmacies.
I built it after helping a family member navigate medication costs of several thousand dollars per month despite having commercial insurance. The tool was later adopted by No Patient Left Behind.
MendOn hold
A wellness rewards product co-founded with Aditya Palled. We also explored ways to address medical debt.
We applied to Y Combinator and placed in the top 10% of the Winter 2026 applicant pool.
Netstek and Jasmin HospitalityOn the side
Rebuilt the websites for two family businesses from scratch and made them easier to use and maintain.
Honors thesis
Impact of Prostate Cancer Tumor Microenvironment on Alternative Splicing Landscapes in NK Cells
My undergraduate thesis investigated gene- and isoform-level changes in natural killer cells exposed to prostate cancer conditions. I used Oxford Nanopore long-read sequencing and analysis tools including R, DESeq2, and Python.
The central finding was that isoform-level analysis can reveal changes in NK-cell activity that conventional gene-level analysis misses.
Industry research
Capstan Therapeutics
Worked in preclinical in vivo pharmacology on targeted lipid nanoparticle technology for in vivo CAR-T therapies. Contributed to therapeutic studies involving murine tumor models, PBMCs, flow cytometry, and experimental analysis.
- What Personal AI Should BeLink coming soon
I grew up in Orlando, Florida, in an Indian American family. I entered college expecting to follow a conventional biology or medicine path and ended up increasingly drawn to startups, technology, and policy.
I'm extremely curious and have a bad habit of turning questions into projects. I care about healthcare access, personal AI, and biotech, especially when a supposedly helpful system is impossible to actually navigate.
Outside work, I'm into photography, cooking, the gym, football, and asking too many questions.
Some of that photography lives at @flicksbyprat ↗
